What is Keyword research?

The keyword is the main key to achieving success in blogging and if you arrange an idea of how to discover a low difficulty high search volume effective keyword, then you nearly crossed half of the way to rank any of your blog posts to the top.

When you search any query in the google search window then that search term will be known as a keyword.

In easy terms, the keyword is a query or search term of any user who types in Google to find particular details about that query.

Let's discuss it below. I am searching for a query "Adsense approval " and google shows more than 2,89,000 results how?

Because those many pages have recorded details around that particular keyword.

Still, one of those websites is ranking at #1 in Google SERP (search engine result pages), because they did the proper research on the keyword.

If you will learn about the Click-through rate or simple means how many people click on your page in Google SERP (search engine result pages),

recent research has observed over 5 million search terms and 0.8 million web pages and found the #1 ranking page is getting 31.7% CTR as compared to 3% at the #10 ranking page

If you are on the second page in Google SERP (search engine result pages) then in SEO people call this the best spot to hide your great content.

Which is close to ranking but not capable of generating traffic and on the second page you may get only 0.78% CTR.

Hence, obtaining the right keyword should be your first criteria, without this, you can not stand in Google.

Now, are you enthusiastic about discovering the best effective keyword?

If yes, then the first step is to study the types of keywords then you can develop a master plan of keyword research.

Types Of Keywords?

Keywords have been classified into mainly two types and each type of keyword has different ranking measures.

So stay focusing on how that keyword works and its effect.

Short Tail Or Single Word Keyword

These keywords are mainly focusing the more extensive-term or category of a particular subject, ideally, you will discover such keywords either in 1 word or 2-word query format

If you search in google and type Yoga, then yoga can have numerous queries to address such as:

  • Yoga Poses.

  • Yoga Exercise.

  • Yoga advantages.

This has an advantage of the number of topics to address in a single post but the problem is they are a very competitive keyword.

Almost every post in Google SERP (search engine result pages) related to Yoga has included Yoga in its title, URL, and content body.

So my advice is to rigidly avoid such keywords mainly when you are a beginner.

LongTail Keyword

These days almost every query is searched in Google, there are lots of opportunities for users to search for a particular question.

In general, long-tail keywords are a combination of 3-5 words long and directly address the user's particular query and that is why I also call them the laser-targeted keyword.

If we analyze the research data shared by Ahref on long-tail keywords, then you can see the longtail keyword has less competition as compared to the short tail keyword, why?

Because they have low search volume and no one is thinking to target those but on the other side these keywords are the gems for beginners to rank fast.
